About

Many people on the spectrum are capable of living on their own but need some level of support to ensure safety & quality of life. By offering ongoing in-home support, a coach can help:

  • Identify skills to practice/improve

  • Develop tools to support success (ex. cleaning checklists, meal plans, etc.)

  • Recommend community resources

  • Monitor overall state of living environment

  • Provide parents/family members with peace of mind via regular check-ins and reports

The process

  1. Consult call. An overview of your needs and our services to see if we're a good fit.

  2. Intake. Up to two hours spent with the client and/or guardian to gain in-depth understanding of needs, goals, and supports already in place.

  3. Support Plan. A support plan is developed by the coach and approved by the client and/or guardian, including the frequency of check-ins and any additional supports that are needed. The initial coaching period often includes more frequent check-ins and skill development, which may taper over time.

  4. Plan Implementation. The support plan is put into action and reassessed/revised as needed!

Coaching vs. Life Skills Training

Life skills training typically focuses on independent living skills such as cooking/cleaning, laundry, medication management, etc. Though improving such skills may be included in coaching goals, coaching offers a wider scope of potential goals and applies strategies for whole-person, long-term success. â€‹â€‹
